The legend of the first wolf

Before House Blackthorn had banners, castles, or soldiers, there was only Jahseh.

During a bitter winter, while traveling through the forests of Bohemia, Jahseh encountered a wounded wolf caught in a hunter’s iron trap.

Rather than kill the animal for its pelt, he freed it.

For three nights afterward, the wolf followed him through the wilderness.

On the fourth night, bandits attacked his camp. The wolf’s howling alerted Jahseh, giving him enough time to escape.

From that day, he believed that loyalty was not something demanded through fear, but earned through compassion.

When Jahseh eventually founded House Blackthorn, he chose the wolf as its symbol.

Not because wolves were feared.

But because wolves protected their own.

My favorite is “The Pack Before the Crown.” It perfectly represents Jahseh’s ambition to become king without abandoning the people who helped him rise.

Jahseh’s future title

His Majesty, Jahseh I Blackthorn, the Wolf King, Founder of House Blackthorn, Protector of the Common Folk.

And I have an idea for the house’s future: The Blackthorn Wolves could begin as a small brotherhood of loyal commoners, protecting villages and travelers. Over time, that brotherhood grows into Jahseh’s personal guard, and eventually the royal army.
