An explainer
What is KCD:MP?
KCD:MP is the multiplayer mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, made by the game's fans. It lets people who own the game meet in the same world online, on servers that anyone may run, each with rules and a game mode of its own.
A single-player game, played together
Warhorse Studios built Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for one player, and gave it no online play. KCD:MP adds it from outside: a client that you run beside your own copy of the game, a public list of servers, and the means for each server to write its own game mode, deciding what happens when a blow lands, how coin is earned and what the people of the world do.
It is free, and it is not official: neither Warhorse Studios nor Deep Silver made it or stand behind it. Its home is kcd-mp.com.
What you need
Your own copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, from Steam, and the KCD:MP client. To play on Blood & Banners RP you need not find the client yourself: our launcher fetches the official one from its published releases, checks it, and starts the game on our server. How to play, step by step.
What a server makes of it
Because every server writes its own game mode, two KCD:MP servers can be as different as two games. Blood & Banners RP is a roleplay server: you play one person in Kuttenberg in 1403, and the game mode is built around living there.
- Cuman raids. Riders fall on the towns; the players hold the walls, and their dogs fight beside them.
- Pets and dogs. War dogs, tracking hounds and guard dogs from the kennel master, and a bond that grows.
- Merchants. More than eighteen merchants, and every garment, weapon and piece of armour in the game.
- Survival. Thirst and waterskins, hunger, the cold of the night, the campfire and the bedroll.
- Law and crime. Bounties, the watch, the cell and the pillory, and wounds that are not yet death.
Questions about KCD:MP
Is KCD:MP official?
No. KCD:MP is a fan project. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with Warhorse Studios or Deep Silver, who made Kingdom Come: Deliverance II as a single-player game.
Is KCD:MP free?
Yes. The mod costs nothing, and so does playing on Blood & Banners RP. You need your own copy of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
How do I install KCD:MP?
For Blood & Banners, you do not need to: our launcher fetches the official KCD:MP client the first time you open it (about 160 MB), checks it against its published checksum, and starts the game on our server.
What does a KCD:MP server add?
Each server runs its own game mode, so each is a different place. Blood & Banners RP runs its own, written for roleplay: wounds instead of instant death, crime and the law, trades, factions, property, quests, Cuman raids and more.
Can I play KCD2 with friends on KCD:MP?
Yes. On Blood & Banners everyone plays on the same server: found a faction together, take co-op quests, or stand on the walls together when the Cumans ride. Each friend needs their own copy of the game.
